Greece, along with 28 countries, signed a joint-call statement on the initiative of Britain, demanding the immediate end of the war in Gaza through an unconditional and permanent ceasefire.

These countries reaffirm their support in efforts of the US, Qatar and Egypt to achieve peace and say they are ready to take further action.

To joint statement, It is condemned by the dangerous policy of the Israeli government that limits the assistance and deprives Gaza residents of human dignity. Signatory countries are calling for the restrictions to be immediately removed in order to allow the safe humanitarian aid by the UN and NGOs.

The joint statement of 29 countries:

  • They argue that the Israeli government’s assistance model is dangerous, supplies volatility and deprives Gaza residents of human dignity.
  • They condemn helping with the dropper and the inhumane killing of civilians, including children, in their attempt to meet their most basic needs in water and food.
  • They consider the Israeli government’s refusal to provide the necessary humanitarian aid to the civilian population and calling Israel to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law.
  • At the same time, they condemn the continued detention of hostages by Hamas and demand their immediate and unconditional release.

For these reasons, the signed countries are calling:

  • The Israeli government immediately lifts the restrictions on the flow of help and to urgently allow the UN and the humanitarian NGOs to do their work that saves lives safely and effectively.
  • All parties to protect civilians and comply with the obligations of international humanitarian law.

At the same time, the inhumane murder of civilians, including children, is condemned, and are sought to protect them in accordance with international humanitarian law. In addition, Hammian hostage reservation is denounced and their immediate release is required.

Signatory countries reject proposals for forced displacement of the Palestinian population and any change in occupied Palestinian territories that undermines the solution of the two states, emphasizing the violation of international law.
