The head of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubasduring his rebuttal in today’s Parliament debate on foreign policy, said that “the KKE asked the prime minister the following questions for which he did not get an answer:

— Will you recognize the independent Palestinian state based on the unanimous decision of the Greek Parliament from 2015?

— Do you condemn, yes or no, the unacceptable attacks of your minister (s.s. Adonis Georgiadis) on the KKE regarding anti-Semitism?

–Are you planning—the answer is a simple yes or no—to send troops to Ukraine?

–Are the reports true or not that the first mission of the Bellhara frigate to be delivered in December is planned to be in the Pacific Ocean in a US exercise? We have submitted a related Question, I myself have asked it to Mr. Dendias here, but there is no answer.

–What happened in July 2024 in Kasos and Karpathos during the investigations for the electrical interconnection cable and what will be done with the money paid by the Greek people for this project?”.

“You don’t answer”, D. Koutsoubas then said, just as you didn’t answer when the KKE in time, from the Vilnius Summit in 2023, talked about dialogue under NATO umbrella and American supervision” he then said, noting that “only the KKE revealed the real goals, informed the people that the focus of the negotiations is the strengthening of the south-eastern wing of NATO, the joint exploitation in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean”.

He added by saying that “the government then did not react, while PASOK, SYRIZA, other parties supported this process, so whatever they claim today is exposed”.

He said that today “the government and the rest of the Euro-Atlantic parties continue to give oaths of loyalty to your strategic allies, USA-NATO-EU, you cultivate illusions about their contribution to the improvement of Greek-Turkish relations, you hide the fact that NATO does not recognize national borders in the Aegean and treats it as an operational field in the confrontation with its competitors. You expect from the US, but Trump considers Turkey a valuable ally, you expect from NATO, but his secretary general, Mark Rutte, exposes you by talking about Turkey’s “huge role” within NATO and the importance of the Turkish defense industry.”

He pointed out, among other things, that “the decisive factor is the strategic relations of the EU with Turkey, this direction dominates and you are blaspheming and consider the EU as a point of reference for the course of Greek-Turkish relations and the resolution of the Cyprus issue”.

“We say that you are consciously mocking the Greek people. We have reached the point where reports of the European Commission are coming out that call the pseudo-state “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”, giving air to the sails of the claims of the Turkish ruling class. At the same time, the SAFE mechanism, as a tool for raising capital of 150 billion euros from the markets for the war economy, paved the way for Turkey’s integration. The objections of the government were probably for show and now you remembered the casus belli, the gray areas that you had forgotten in the name of “calm waters”.

He said that “your allies in the EU were well aware of the threat of war and the occupation of Cyprus, but they ignored you for the sake of their strategic pursuits”.

Commenting on the positions of the PASOK president, Nikos Androulakis, for a “new Helsinki”, D. Koutsoumbas recalled that at the EU Helsinki Summit, under Prime Minister K. Simitis, the EU “adopted positions of the Turkish state with dangerous dimensions”.

Adding that the decision was made there for Cyprus to join the EU, he pointed out that “immediately an attempt was made to impose the dichotomous Annan Plan which was rejected by the Cypriot people, the possession of 37% of the island remains and the plans for partition, confederation or two states are in progress”.

“You cultivated illusions about the role of Haftar and his staff in Eastern Libya and exposed yourself, since today this side is also preparing to ratify the Turkish-Libyan Pact,” he said, asking, among other things, the question “From where and to what extent can the American Chevron secure the sovereign rights of Greece?”

“The truth is that our country is entering deeper into the vortex of competition and the risks for new adventures are multiplying” he underlined.

“All of you, with the primary responsibility of the ND government, are putting our people in danger. That is why we have a duty to reveal to you, to show another way for the Greek people.

You have your way with your imperialist allies and we have ours, with the people, together with the other peoples, together with the Communist Party of Turkey, which is fighting in adverse conditions. Against the provocative attempt to distort and embellish reality, we will continue to inform the people, to prepare them for all developments.

To inoculate his struggles with requests, such as for:

–No change of the borders and the conditions that determine them.

— Let Greece now get out of military interventions, slaughterhouses, let the ships, the officers of the Armed Forces, the equipment that is outside the borders return.

–None of our soldiers outside the border!

–Close all American bases.

— No to the enormous NATO equipment and the war economy that the people pay for, today with their money and tomorrow maybe with their blood.

Money for education, for health, for protection from natural disasters.

–Withdrawal from the sanctions on Russia, which are also paid by the Greek people.

–No thought of sending troops to Ukraine.

–To recognize the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

“These are very specific proposals that need to be implemented. We continue on the path of coordinated popular struggle for the reunification of Cyprus and its people. For an independent, united Cyprus, i.e. one and not two states, with one and only sovereignty, one citizenship, one international personality, common homeland of Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Maronites, Armenians and Latins, without occupying forces and any kind of other foreign troops, without bases, without guarantors and protectors, with its people as sovereign” added D. Koutsoubas and concluded:

“A truly “strong Greece” will exist only when its people can live according to the possibilities of the time, in peace, in cooperation with the other peoples of the region, outside of NATO, the EU and any other imperialist alliance. When he shall have sent to their place all these exploiters of his toil, and shall have taken the government himself, the power and the state into his own honest and strong hands. For this perspective, every struggle, every sacrifice is really worth it!”
