As of today, the increase of the minimum wage from 663 euros to 713 is valid.

Government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou speaking to noted that “what more symbolic” than the increase in the minimum wage on May Day. He stressed, however, the profit for the employees on an annual basis, as with this increase it will be as if they have a 15th salary.

The increase of the minimum wage for 2022 (2% from January 1 + 7.5% from May 1) is cumulative 9.7%. Greece ranks 9th among 21 EU countries with a statutory minimum wage, up from 11th so far. Specifically with the increase by 7.5% to 831.8 euros on a 12-month basis, the minimum wages in our country rise in the ranking by 2 places, surpassing Portugal (822.5 euros) and Malta (792.26 euros).

Also, from today, the three years are valid for employees depending on the years of service they have completed before February 14, 2012.
