The Minister of Health stressed that the pressure on the health system continues but with the development of ICU beds and cooperation with the private sector, the Health System will withstand.
Mr. Plevris stated that there is a stabilization in the number of cases in Northern Greece and Thessaly while on the contrary in Attica there is an increase in cases. He noted, however, that Attica, which has a much higher rate of vaccination, has fewer hospitalizations.
He ruled out the possibility of extending the mandatory vaccination at this time, explaining that it would lead to more work suspensions. He added that the health system has already been pressured by the suspensions in the healthcare system and if the suspensions increase, there will be pressure in other sectors as well.
Answering a relevant question, he stated that with the protocol in education it is established that the cases are controlled. He said there is a discussion and there may be a safety protocol for school trips.
