COP26: Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Glasgow – What will he say at the conference |

The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will take part and speak at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26) to be held in Glasgow with the presence of leaders from most countries of the world. Among them are Biden, Merkel, Macron, Draghi, Sanchez, Trinto, Erdogan.

During his intervention, on Monday at noon, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will refer to the big program of the green transition that he implements and to those that are planned by the Greek government.

He will emphasize:

– The goals of de-lignification
– The large increase in RES in energy production and the new ambitious goals that we set, including the marine wind farms
– The green islands and the innovative programs that we implement there
– The initiative for green shipping
– The protection of ecosystems and the measures taken

Kyriakos Mitsotakis will also stress the plan to turn Greece into a green energy hub in Europe based on the recent agreement with Egypt and talks in Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister will also address the broader goals to be set at European and global level in dealing with the climate crisis.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Prime Minister will have a series of bilateral contacts and will return to Athens on Monday night.
