It is false that Robinho depends on Bolsonaro not to be extradited

by

It is a false post according to which Jair Bolsonaro (PL) would have denied the extradition of former football player Robinho, who was ultimately sentenced to nine years in prison for gang rape in Italy, in the name of a “sealed agreement in exchange for supporting the current president”.

In fact, the Italian government asked that the athlete be extradited this Tuesday (4), but the request will hardly be granted – not because of a pact between Robinho and Bolsonaro, who is seeking reelection, but because, according to the Constitution, Brazil does not extradite its citizens.

“No Brazilian will be extradited, except for a naturalized person, in the case of a common crime committed before naturalization, or of proven involvement in illicit trafficking in narcotics and related drugs, in accordance with the law”, states the Constitution in its chapter 1.

On September 30, on the eve of the first round and before the extradition request made by the Italian government, Robinho declared his support for Bolsonaro on social media, after almost ten months without publishing anything.

The fake content was published by re-elected federal deputy André Janones (Avante) and, as of Tuesday afternoon (4), on Twitter alone it had 50,700 likes and more than 9,300 shares. THE Sheet tried to contact him, but received no response until the publication of this text.
