Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) recommended, this Thursday (20), the removal of the flags that decorated Rua Francisco Bicalho, in the Caiçara neighborhood, in Belo Horizonte, for the World Cup.
The photo of the ornamentation went viral this week. The decoration, with Brazilian flags, was accompanied by a banner that said “It’s not politics, it’s the Cup”, to signal that the ornamentation was dedicated to the World Cup and not a support for President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in this year’s elections. .
The company said that, for safety reasons, it is not allowed to install decorations on poles or other components of the electrical network, due to the risk of accidents. With the World Cup approaching, the company is identifying decorations that compromise safety and has begun to carry out removal actions.
“Cemig advises that, on public roads and squares, ornaments and ornaments must be installed away from the power grids, they cannot be affixed to poles and never fixed with metallic wires, because in addition to the risk of accidents, they also make access difficult for electricians. of the company for the maintenance of the electrical system”, said Cemig in a note.
According to the company, after an inspection and conversation with residents, it was decided that, next Monday (24), Cemig technicians will remove the flags and the ornamentation will be reinstalled outside the electrical grid structures.
Residents were instructed not to continue with the decorations and not to make any intervention on the material already installed, for safety reasons.
