Formula 1 is coming to an end for this season, but the tensions are not lacking, with the Alpine boss Ottmar Schaffnauerto express his frustration by criticizing her behavior of Alonso and Ocon in the Brazilian Sprint Race.
The two drivers battled from the start, even making two contacts in the very first lap, which resulted in Alonso’s front wing breaking. This had the effect of him finishing in 15th place while the Frenchman in 18th, who after the end also saw his car engulfed in flames.
The atmosphere at Alpine is heavy with the team’s engineer publicly stating: “Alonso and Ocon today let the team down, we are in a tough battle for the constructors’ championship, something the whole team is working on non-stop. Esteban and Fernando need to do a better job of repaying everyone’s dedication to the team by avoiding such incidents, I expect more from them».
