Harry Kane feels ankle but trains with England

The captain of the England team, Harry Kane, 29, trained this Wednesday (23) for the duel against the United States, despite an ankle injury that needed to be examined. The information came from his partner Jordan Pickford, 28, England’s first choice goalkeeper.

“Yeah, I think he’s fine. Of course in a little pain, but I think he’s fine. He trained with us today.”

Kane suffered a blow to his ankle during the match against Iran, on Monday (21), in a duel with defender Pouraliganji, right at the beginning of the second half.

The possibility of a return of the striker’s chronic injuries after the team’s almost perfect start to the World Cup campaign should be a concern for manager Gareth Southgate, even if five England players have already scored in this Cup, as the promising Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham.

Kane remains an England talisman, having won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup with six goals before defeating Croatia in the semi-finals of the tournament.

The English coach would hardly risk putting his injured striker against the United States on Friday (25), when a victory could put them in the round of 16 with a game to rule out, preferring to have the striker as a certainty in the final stages of the Cup of the world.
