Former player Pelé wished luck this Thursday (24) to the Brazilian team and asked the team to “bring the trophy home”, shortly before the debut in the World Cup, against Serbia.
The 82-year-old King of Football sent positive energy to Brazil through an Instagram post in which he posted photos of his time as a player in World Cup matches to inspire the team that will try to get the sixth in Qatar.
“Today we start to write a new story. It doesn’t matter the size and tradition of the opponents: we must respect and play each match with the focus of a final”, wrote Pelé.
“Today, we will be more than 200 million hearts beating as one”, added the King, three times world champion (1958, 1968 and 1970).
The legendary number 10 shared several photos of his “battles” for the national team, with the last image being uploaded by fans after the 1970 final.
“I’m sure we’ll have a happy ending. May God bless you. Bring this trophy home!” concluded Pele.
