Hakimi celebrates Morocco’s victory with her mother in the stands

Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi, 24, celebrated the victory over Belgium with his mother, Saida Mouh, this Sunday (27), at Al Thumama Stadium, in Al Thumama.

The player went to the stands to hug her, accompanied by teammate Sabiri, who came off the bench and assisted Morocco’s second goal in the 2-0.

The same scene was recorded in 2018, in Russia: after the match against Spain, which eliminated the country from that edition still in the group stage, Hakimi went to greet his mother on the bench.

The winger was born in Spain, but is the son of Moroccan immigrants. He could play for the Spanish national team, but chose to wear the shirt of the family’s country of origin.

Raised at Real Madrid, Hakimi rose to the professional ranks in 2017, aged 19. Shortly thereafter, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund for two seasons. He stood out and ended up being sold to Inter Milan — there, he was one of the highlights of Serie A in the Nerazzurri winning campaign.

After one season, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he serves Messi, Mbappé and Neymar in the front line.

Hakimi is an acute full-back: he usually goes up to the attack with depth, sometimes even the bottom line. He is one of Morocco’s hopes, a team that should paint in the round of 16 — with 4 points, they are at the top of Group F alongside Croatia.

Its next game is against Canada, bottom of the group and already eliminated, on Thursday (1th), at 12 noon.

Belgium, defeated in the duel against the Africans, has 3 points and faces Croatia in the last round, on the same day and time.
