Striker Richarlison was one of the most desolate players after Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup. The player left the dressing room at the Cidade da Educação stadium in tears, devastated by the team’s defeat to Croatia, on penalties.

“I want to get into a hole and never show up again. I’m a player, but I’m a fan on the field. We created very high expectations, but unfortunately we failed”, said Richarlison, in tears.

“It’s strange, it seems that I can’t even believe it. I’m going to find my father now and give him a hug.”

For the Tottenham striker, the elimination in Qatar is the biggest frustration of his career. 🇧🇷[O título] was the goal we had. Like it or not, we had a squad to be champions. But sometimes football is unfair. We gave life on the field.”

On the future, Richarlison was brief. “There are many who will not return [à seleção]Dani [Alves] and Thiago [Silva], probably. But you have a life ahead of you. Cry now, but lift your head.”
