Cristiano Ronaldo cries after elimination in his last World Cup

by

Rarely has Cristiano Ronaldo been seen crying after a match. In one of those rare moments, he was moved to tears as he helped Portugal win Euro 2016, the country’s first ever title.

This Saturday (10), the crying was of sadness. He couldn’t hold back the tears after the Portuguese team was defeated by the Morocco team in the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

In his fifth participation in the biggest tournament in world football, the number 7 had the last chance to win what will always be the only major title missing from his gallery.

At the age of 37, he already said that this was his last Cup. He will be 41 next time, in 2026. In Qatar, he was far from the physical form that enshrined him.

His future, both in the national team and at clubs, is uncertain. Since he went on a collision course with Manchester United, he has been looking for a new team, but so far he has not received any proposals from big European teams.

Only teams from alternative countries sought contact with the striker, who still aspires to be on the big stages of football. Having a good Cup was essential for that.

He knew it. His crying also carried this sadness.
