Detailed Press Release:

Greek athletes performed very well in the big international race of World Sailing “2021 YOUTH SAILING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS” which ended in Al Musanah, Oman.

In three categories, namely the 420 women and the TECHNO 293, our sailors were not only in the top 10, but had the potential to finish higher than the positions they occupied.

A typical example was the 420 women where D. Bartholomew – Metaxia Gogou (N.O. P. Faliro) finished 5th with 42 points, just 10 more than the French boat that won the bronze medal. There were 9 races and 19 boats ran.

In the 420 mixed the brothers Lampis Evlampios Giannoulis – Eleni Giannouli (IOP) took the 13th place with 78 points among 22 boats.

In the TECHNO 293 Plus boys, Meletis Kalpogiannakis (A.O. Water Sports) finished 6th with 72 points. There were 13 races and 18 boats ran.

In the respective category of girls, Emilia Kosti (NAO Kekrops) took the 7th place with 74 points in a total of 17 boats.
