Antetokounmpo: “Sometimes I’m too focused”

by

He spoke about the way he deals with NBA games, but also about his moves on the floor, after his excellent performance against the Denver Nuggets (33 points, 14 rebounds). John Antetokounmpo.

In detail what he said after the game with the Nuggets:

“I just wanted to find a rhythm. I tried to be aggressive, build on my strengths. I try to enjoy the game. Sometimes I stay focused. I think I should enjoy the game more.

When I do that, I go for shots more often, I go to the basket more often, I find my teammates more easily, I make better shots. If I enjoy the game, I win more fouls.

“The hard part is winning fouls and going for shots. The easy part is to put the shots. If I go to the shots and I can score to help my team, that’s a nice feeling.

Sometimes the ball goes into the basket, sometimes it doesn’t. This gives me pace, because I go to the basket. You lose your rhythm if you go to the basket, you don’t win fouls and you miss. But if I get the phase or win a foul, it personally gives me energy to play defense, to calm down.”
