Maxim Skrendou will continue his career at PAOK until the end of this season. The “black and white” TAA announced the acquisition of the Belarusian international center, in order to replace the Cuban Costa.
The 26-year-old ace played in the Russian league last season.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the men’s volleyball department announces the start of cooperation with the athlete, Maksim Shkredau, for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season.
Born in Belarus on 10/10/1997, Maksim Shkredau plays as a center and is 207cm tall.
He started his career in the 2013-2014 season from Marko-VSTU of Belarus, staying there until the 2017-2018 season.
The next stop in his career was Shakhtior Soligorsk from Belarus, where he stayed until the 2020-21 season. There, he won the treble in all three years, winning the league, Cup and Super Cup, while competing in the CEV Champions League and CEV Cup, getting even more performances from the top level.
In these three years, Maksim Shkredau was named the best center of the league (2019-20) and the best center of the Cup (2020-21).
The 2021-2022 season found him outside of Belarus for the first time, playing for Yugra-Samotlor Nizhnevartovsk from Russia.
In the first half of this season he competed in China, and more specifically at Beijing BAIC Motor. There, despite the fact that his team finished third in the regular season of the league, he went all the way, making excellent performances in the playoffs, winning all series 2-0, from the quarterfinals to the finals.
He is an international player with the Belarusian national team, having won the European Golden League in the 2020-2021 season.
On the start of his collaboration with PAOK, Maksim Shkredau stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy to have joined PAOK. My friends Udris and Kuklinski played here last year, so I know this is a great team. I will give everything in order for the team to achieve its goals, which are the championship and the Cup.
I come from a completely different league, that of China, where we might play up to four games in one week. All the people welcomed me here in the best way and made me feel at home, which made me happy.”
