Opinion – Sandro Macedo: Remembering soap operas that adorn the beginning of the football season

by

In one week, Palmeiras delivered the best game of the year in Brazilian football and a horrible match at Paulistinha. At best, he beat Flamengo in the Super Cup dispute. In the bad game, against Mirassol, he also won.

In this second game, the theme of Mr. Abel Ferreira’s press conference was Saturday’s final, in Brasília. All due to the criticism (there were many) that he suffered for his behavior in the decision, in which he was expelled, again. In his comment, the professor recalled the love of Brazilians for soap operas and that they would be creating a soap opera to take the focus off the Palmeiras title.

The mister exaggerated a little. I saw a lot more praise for Palmeiras than criticism for the teacher, but he was uncomfortable. However, inspired by Abel, let’s remember some of the main soap operas from this beginning of the season.

“Amor com Amor se Paga” – Starring Roger Guedes, Corinthians striker who loves coach Lázaro, who, in turn, loves to give Roger freedom on the field. Posthumous villain: Vítor Pereira, always him, who pulled Roger’s little ear.

“Os Ricos Also Cry” – With flamenguistas already complaining about the title lost to Palmeiras and sending a letter of repudiation to the CBF. The soap opera can end soon, with a title in the Club World Cup, or gain new and tearful chapters.

“Cobras e Lagartos” – A Mercosur soap opera starring Arturo Vidal, who paid several mental tributes to Professor Vítor Pereira (always him) when he was passed over in the game Flamengo x Boavista. Vidal is already making the “quero colo” line, to the delight of Colo-Colo fans.

“A Dona do Pedaço” – With Dona Leila, of course. The president of Palmeiras sold players, invested little in reinforcements, already won a cup in the year (to silence the critics?), bought a plane and cut the carnival budget for the fans. Will you face it?

“Duas Caras” – A soap opera with John Textor, at least, that’s how many people from Botafogo saw the owner of SAF after the sale of Jefinho to Lyon. And whose Lyon is. From himself, John Textor (in France the novel is called “Deux Faces”).

“O Rei do Gado” – This is the soap opera that the people of São Paulo are waiting for with anxiety after the arrival of striker Erison, formerly of Botafogo, nicknamed El Toro. By Rogério Ceni, Muricy and Julio Casares, the same creators of “Esperança”.

“Meu Pé de Laranja Lima” – From the series “who sows, reaps”, with Lucas Lima. A player who had a great spell at Santos, went to Palmeiras to make fun of Santos and, after a lot of experience, now returns… to Santos.

“Vale Tudo” – With Vítor Pereira (always him), Corinthians, Flamengo and a mother-in-law, in a story with corrupted brotherly love (co-starring Duílio Monteiro Alves), Portuguese ambition and desire for revenge.

“Vai na Fé” – Fernando Diniz teaches a defense to always play with the goalkeeper, no matter who it hurts.

“Terra Nostra” – A science fiction soap opera in which journalists swear that the CBF is looking for a coach abroad: not starring Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti and many other good European coaches employed.

“Ouro Verde” – Who needs to buy a player with so much promise coming from the base of Palmeiras? After the past success of Patrick de Paula, Danilo and Gabrieis (Jesus, Menino and Veron) here comes Endrick, Vanderlan, Geovani and Kevin. In time: “Ouro Verde” is a Portuguese soap opera, yeah.

“Deus nos Acuda” – A tribute to all fans who paid for tickets for any match of the state championships. To paraphrase Milton Leite: “My God”.
