Walkup: ‘Going for a frontal attack – We’re not looking beyond the Mars game’

by

Statements in view of the presence of Olympiakos in the Final-8 of the Greek Cup were made by Thomas Walkupexpressing his impatience to step on the floor at the “Two Aorakis”, while emphasizing that no one in the “red and whites” is looking beyond the quarter-final against Aris.

In detail what the Olympiakos guard said:

“We are excited to be in Crete, we are confident, we have a very good pace and we had a good week in training. We are excited to start the event. Last year was last year. This year is something completely different. We can’t look back at what happened last year, it doesn’t matter at this point. This week we go for a frontal attack.

A few weeks ago we did not play well with Aris. It was a good and competitive game. It’s only forty minutes. You have to be serious all the time and face the matches with the necessary seriousness and competitiveness. This is what we should do.

When the time comes (s.s. to play with Panathinaikos), we will see. We cannot help but look at our own struggle. As you saw in the first game of the day (vs. Panionios-AEK), every match in this competition is serious. We are not looking beyond the Mars game, we will go one step at a time.

The Final Eight is cool. I like to play, so we will have one more match. I like it, it’s fun. In a knockout competition, every match is tough and exciting.”.
