A breather for ESAKE and the teams of the Basket League. As announced, the amount was disbursed from taxation of the winnings from the bet. The amount that will go into the coffers based on the KYA (Joint Ministerial Decision) is a total of 5,093,500 euros.

ESAKE’s announcement in detail:
“The disbursement of the amount corresponding to KAE and ESAKE from the taxation of the winnings of the players of the games of chance has been completed.
It is about a permanent support mechanism for Greek sports that was established by the State a year ago and to which the Basket League teams joined after the actions of the ESAKE administration and cooperation with the Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Avgenakis.
The permanent mechanism contributes to the effort of KAE and ESAKE for the further development of our beloved sport and thanks to the strict framework of conditions set by the Deputy Ministry of Sports in the effort of the teams themselves and ESAKE for the financial consolidation of KAE and the suppression phenomena of unfair competition in the Basket League.
The Board of Directors of ESAKE will continue to claim with arguments, evidence and good faith dialogue with the State what really belongs to professional basketball and what it has contributed to Greek sports and society”.
