Gacinovic: “Happy for a win and a goal-San… 0-0 with Olympiakos”

THE Mijat Gacinovic was named Cosmote MVP of the match against Asteras Tripoli (2-0), through the voting of the members of the PAE AEK community on Viber. He declared that he was doubly happy for the victory but also for his first appearance as a starter in the league after his injury, while he emphasized that Wednesday’s Cup rematch against Olympiakos needs a lot of attention, despite the 3-0 in the first match. The Serbian midfielder spoke in detail:

For goals scored at OPAP ARENA: “I wouldn’t be upset if I continue like this and the team wins every game, as we have been doing so far at our stadium. Of course, I’m very happy because this was also my first game (as a starter) in the league after the operation I had, so I’m very happy to come back with a goal and help the team win the match.”

For the progress of the match: “It was very difficult, to be honest. Despite playing with ten players from the start, they made it difficult. Already in the first game they deprived us of two points and I respect this team, because they always make it difficult for the opponent. I am happy that we were patient, that we waited for the opportunity, we continued and scored a goal. We won 2-0, we could have achieved more, but to be honest, I’m happy that we bounced back straight away after losing the previous match and it was a very important game for us.”

For the rematch with Olympiakos: “We have to go into the game like we started the match at home, because if we think we are already in the final, it can be very, very difficult. I respect Olympiakos a lot, I know they are a big team and they still believe they can win the game. They will give everything to win the match. It is very important to them, but also to us. We have to go into the game as if it is 0-0. If we don’t, it will be a problem for us.”
