THE PPC Cycling Tour of Greece for 2023 is being prepared, always upgraded as a Category 2.1 Race in the World Federation and the day after tomorrow, Thursday, March 2, at 1 pm at PPC AIS Faliro, its details will be presented by the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis and the Organizing Committee of Cycling Greece.
Greece returned powerfully to the international cycling map, eliciting, in the revival of the Tour last year after 10 years, laudatory comments from all the teams that were in our country.
A consequence of the success of 2022 was the great interest from many foreign teams to participate in this year’s race as well, with the Organizing Committee having the difficult task of selecting the 20 teams that will cycle on the new routes next May.
The reception and active participation of the local communities was extremely enthusiastic and of course this year’s PPC Cycling Tour of Greece will follow the same efficient logic of synergies with the Regions and Municipalities.
THE Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteris Avgenakis points out in this regard:
“Last year we believed it, worked hard and successfully revived, after 10 years, the PPC Cycling Tour of Greece, upgraded as a 2.1 event on the World Federation’s calendar.
This year, we are building on the strong foundation we have created and developing it further. We continue to highlight Greece’s huge potential in hosting great sporting events, which – beyond the international sporting footprint – boost sports tourism and benefit local communities and the national economy.
The new routes of the PPC Cycling Tour of Greece have been planned, the great participating teams have been finalized and now we are ready to announce all the relevant details.
We won another bet in this four-year period! We have undertaken to lead Greece into a new era of extroversion and the PPC Cycle Tour, like other events of a similar scope, contributes to the push that the country needs to take the lead in the international environment, which generates ever greater challenges. Our sport is changing. Greece is changing and continuing dynamically.”
