Super League 2: Leutsakou’s resignation accepted – Elections and matches on March 11-12

In one of the more difficult days for our country, where the thoughts of all of us are with the families of the victims of the tragedy, the Super League 2 Board of Directors, because of the emergency of the subject, concluded his session and received the following decisions:

1. He accepted the resignation of President Leonidas Leutsakos. His position is assumed by the 1st vice-president, Mr. Charalambos Stamoulis, until the elections are held, which were set for Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 12:00.

Nominations for the position of President can be submitted until Monday 6.3.2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union’s offices, submitting together:

a) Full CV

b) Copy of degrees or documents proving their administrative experience and expertise in the field of professional sports.

c) Responsible declaration that they do not fall under the obstacles of the sports law, as it applies from time to time and the obstacles provided for in the statutes of the E.P.O.

d) Full copy of criminal record dated one month before its filing.

Nominations for the position of President can be made by one of them representatives of PAE of the A2 category or even a third party who is not a member of the Board of Directors PAE or shareholder of PAE.

2. Sets the restart of the Championship for the weekend of March 11-12, 2023 with the 14th matchday.

3. Acceptance of the criteria and conditions set by the KYA (Government Gazette B’ 704, 10/02/2023) in order for the AAE to be financed by the permanent support mechanism, through the taxation of the winnings of the players of games of chance.

4. Commitment to limit the number of participating teams from the 2023-2024 season in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the organization and ensure the viability of the PAE.

5. Full cooperation and support for mutual development benefits with category partners, ERT and sponsor Betsson.

6. Upgrading and modernizing all functions of the League.
