Monaco-Panathinaikos: Difficult mission in Monte Carlo for the missing “greens”

by

The return to European victories is sought by Panathinaikos!

The “greens” count 5 matches Euroleague away from the pink sheets, and they will have the chance to stop this negative streak in Monte Carlo, where they will be hosted by Monaco for the 27th matchday of the Euroleague (22:00, NovaSports Prime).

This particular match is quite difficult for his team Christou Serelis. The French are a very quality team, they are at 16-10 and figure in 5th place in the standings, fighting for a place in the top four, unlike Panathinaikos of 8-18 which has almost lost all hope of qualification.

As far as the formation is concerned, the Monaco comes from the very easy victory (86-67) over Maccabi for the Euroleague, while in the French championship he made a “joke” in Nader (108-87). Panathinaikos also had an easy victory in the Basket League, where they hit it Carditsa with a score of 91-75, however, in the Euroleague they have lost 5 in a row, with the last pink card against Zalgiris on January 26th!

An ally in their effort, the “greens” will not have health, since three very important pieces of the roster never traveled to Monaco. Specifically, the Arturas GudaitisDimitris Agravanis and Nate Walters they didn’t even get on the plane to France, so they will miss the match. Sasa Obradovic’s team, on the other hand, will line up in full on the court against Panathinaikos.

The match becomes even more difficult, if one considers the fact that the “greens” have never tasted the joy of victory against the Monegasques! Indeed, last year they were defeated in the Euroleague both at home and away, while this year Monaco managed to leave OAKA with a “double” (80-83) in the first round match.
