The… freezing of Gary Lineker at the BBC because of the Briton’s criticism of the country’s government has brought huge reactions in the UK, with general manager of the network, Tim Davey, to comment on what has happened.
The high-ranking executive spoke to the Media itself and in fact seemed to be under a lot of pressure (!) by the BBC News people to reveal what has emerged.
Davey denied that there was any government pressure to caricature the popular presenter, while he apologized to subscribers for Saturday’s (11/03) lame program.
Among other things, he emphasized that “success for me will be if Lineker returns to his position”while admitting that “these are not the easiest days for the BBC” clarifying however that he does not intend to resign.
It is recalled that after the news of the veteran striker’s temporary (?) removal from Match Of The Day, all his co-hosts announced that will abstain as a sign of support.
Earlier, the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, commented that “I appreciate Lineker, not everyone can agree with our decisions.”
