Taking the lead in the second half, Monaco comfortably defeated Virtus Bologna 81-68 in the end for the 29th game of the EuroLeague and, with a 19-10 record, remained in the top four and dreams of home field advantage in the playoffs, leaving the Italians in 13 -19 and in -2 of the privileged positions.

The Monegasques got a +10 at the end of the third period and reached +16 in the fourth, reaching the final victory.

Okobo with 21, Lloyd with 15, Hull with 13 and Motejunas with 12 points starred for the winners. For the former champions of Italy, Miki stood out with 14 and Abbas with 12 points.

The match

The two teams had found many solutions from the perimeter and racket and the lead was changing hands, with Moteyounas leading the Monegasque offensively in the first minutes of the match. The “baton” in scoring was taken over by Lloyd and Brown for Saša Obradovic’s team against the inventions of Teodosic and the accuracy of the Italians in the racket, with the quarter ending at 21-22 for Virtus.

The same pattern continued at the start of the second period with the right choices inside both rackets. There, Belinelli starred in a 7-0 run by Virtus and brought the Italians +5. However, the Monegasques went on an 11-0 run with Okombo and Motejunas as protagonists for the +6 of the French team. Virtus responded with a 4-0 run to make it -2, but Okobo ended the first half at 41-37. The French had 6/7 shots and 22 rebounds, while the Italians had 8/11 two-pointers and 13 rebounds respectively.

Monaco held a +4 at the start of the third period, but Virtus went on a 4-0 run led by Miki for the +1. Motejunas starred in a 4-0 of the French for +3. A 7-0 run by Monaco made it 58-51 with offensive versatility and another 5-0 run made it 63-53 at the end of the quarter.

Too many misses on either side at the start of the fourth period helped Monaco maintain a +10 lead, and then a 4-0 run helped them to +14 and maintain a +12 to +14 margin in that span. Okobo brought it 74-57 and now the difference was consistently close to +15, so the match ended at 81-68.
