Magnuson for derby with AEK: “We are ready for battle, we know that the atmosphere will be difficult”

Statements ahead of tomorrow’s (19/3, 9:30 p.m.) big league derby between AEK and Panathinaikos were made by Hordur Magnussonemphasizing that he and his teammates are ready for “battle”, while he characterized the Union as an excellent team that can achieve a lot.

The Icelander’s remarks will play on Cosmote TV’s Sportshow before the big match, which kicks off this year’s exciting Stoiximan Super League playoffs!

In detail what the defender of the “greens” stated:

About the upcoming match with AEK and what awaits: “AEK was the favorite for everyone in the second half of the championship, but we showed that this was not the case. I won’t say anything about them, because I know they have a really good team, with a lot of good footballers. Unfortunately for them, they lost at home and that’s why I think they will be angrier against us. But we are ready for such a battle. A match against them on a difficult pitch, the atmosphere there is intense, but that will not stop us from beating them and extending their losing streak even further. As I said, AEK finished second in the regular season, but they have a great team that can do a lot of things.”.

For the good data that Panathinaikos must maintain in the playoffs: “Many things and I think we have everything at the moment, to take them with us in the play offs. As you can see we are first in the regular season, which means we worked very hard to get there. But you know, the playoffs, I heard about last year, where the team didn’t do well in the regular season, but in the playoffs, we were one of the best teams, winning almost every game. I hope that our team, Panathinaikos, will be a team for the play offs, for the big games. I know from myself that as a football player you want to play in the big games and win them. It’s a good test for us and I hope we can do the same as last year in the play offs”.
