Petros Mandalos emphasized the high goals of the national team in the Euro qualifiers, at the press conference ahead of the friendly with Lithuania.

In detail, what he said:

On how he feels about playing in the OPAP Arena with the national team’s jersey and not with AEK’s: “I always feel good, the stadium is familiar.”

On what he expects to improve compared to the previous event: “Let’s collect more points than the previous event. In the games where we are better than the opponent, let’s manage to get the points and in the end be in the first two places so that we can go straight to the Euro”.

For the match against Gibraltar: “We had a good game, we created chances, we could have been more efficient. Let’s score more goals that maybe they will play their role. There is room for improvement, we can do better. That’s why we work, so that we can be better in every game”

For the course of the National team in the last decade: “It wasn’t the best time when I first came. We have been out of competitions for the last 10 years, one can understand that things were not good. The national team is in line and is getting closer and closer to a big event”.

On whether the National Team would prefer to have a second consecutive official match: “Does not matter. We will wear the coat of arms, it doesn’t matter if it’s a friendly or an official one, we will give our best to continue the streak and in June we will be mentally ready. The next two games are very important to me.”
