Miltos Tentoglou with his coach Giorgos Pomaski and his fellow athletes in the triple jump, Andreas Pantazis and Spyridoula Karydis, will leave on April 10 for Antalya and will return to Athens on 4/24.
Pomaski had chosen the same center in 2019, where he found excellent facilities and a complete center with everything an athlete might need during his preparation. In fact, his intention was to prepare in the same facility in 2020, however the pandemic ruined their plans.
“It’s a center that has everything a high-level athlete could need, and I’m not just referring to the excellent facilities. After Turkey we will stay in Greece for a while and then we will continue the preparation in Cyprus”, said the federal coach.
The European indoor and outdoor long jump champion will make his first race of the season at the international meeting in Limassol on May 25 and then return to Athens to compete on June 3 at the 1st Piraeus Street Long Jump, organized by SEGAS, in collaboration with the Municipality of Piraeus.
The 2022 “silver” world champion has as his big goal this year the gold medal at the World Championships in Budapest, but before next August’s event he will participate in a series of strong competitions, among them the Diamond League in Paris (9/ 6), Oslo (15/6), Lausanne (30/6), the European Team Championship of Silesia (23-25/6) and the Panhellenic Open Track Championship of Volos (8-9/7).
In the thoughts of the athlete and his coach is also his presence in an event, in which in the past there have been great performances and we are talking about the Sestriere track and field meeting at an altitude of 2,000 meters which favors the achievement of great performances. “There is interest in participating in this particular race, however I think we will only go if he is in very good condition, so that he can make the very big jump”, Pomaski added.
Following the Budapest event, Tedoglou will seek his second career diamond at the Diamond League Finals in Eugene, September 16-17.
