At the same time, KAE Panathinaikos is supporting the two-day event organized by PAO BC Academy as part of World Autism Awareness Day, which is on Sunday (2/4).

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong neurobiological developmental disorder. It can be safely diagnosed from the 3rd year of a child’s age. According to recent data, there are approximately 150,000 registered people in Greece who belong to the Autism spectrum. Children with autism make up 2.5% of the general population. This percentage is important enough to motivate us.

The PAO BC Academy ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program is a unique initiative under the auspices of the PAO BC Academy. It is integrated into the core operation of the Academies of KAE Panathinaikos. This is the first consistent and systematic training program in a team sport, which has been operating since 2018 and is aimed at people on the autism spectrum.

The two days of Information & Awareness aims to inform the children and parents of our academy, so that they can RECOGNIZE, UNDERSTAND and ACCEPT the diversity and uniqueness of these children. In this way, inclusion and integration into society is effectively achieved.

Basketball for everyone, Sports for everyone, Socializing with everyone!
