An interesting interview at S Sport on Youtube was given by Marshall Glickman.
Its CEO Euroleague was asked to comment on the future of the event, at least as far as their events are concerned Final Fourbut also the possibility of joining a team from Dubaiwhich lately sounds strongly.
Talking about the cities that the organization is considering for its future events Final Four commented that:“In the long run the Final 4 will be in the big cities of the world, in the big cities of Europe. I like the fact that we are going to Kaunas this year. It’s a small town, but a basketball town. They are very into basketball there. I think that’s great, but I’m also excited about future Final 4 locations. Istanbul is obviously on the list.”
Regarding the “Dubai” case, Mr Glickman emphasized that: “We have to be careful because if we bring Dubai into the mix, there is probably some other European market that is not in the mix because there are so many days which means so many games and so many teams.
Do we prioritize Dubai over Paris and London? Maybe, maybe not. These are interesting discussions that raise many issues, but we see an opportunity.”
