The French referee Francois Letesier tomorrow (5/4, 21:00) he will become the first elite referee from the top six leagues in Europe, to whistle in a game of the Greek league and as everything shows, won’t be the last!
Kyriakos Thomaidis revealed to News Bulletin 247 that the English head referee Steve Bennett has found a field of understanding with the UEFA Refereeing Committee and it is very possible that another French referee will come to whistle in the playoffs, maybe even a Spanish one!
It should be noted here, of course, that Letesier is “closed” for tomorrow’s derby between Olympiakos and PAOK before UEFA intervenedafter Bennett’s moves, however, the way is opened for others of a similar level to come and not of the type… Dabanovic, even Kulbakov.
It is very interesting, of course, to see from Thursday onwards who will be the referee of Sunday’s big derby between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.
For the record, in the elite list the French are three namely: Benoit Bastian, Francois Letesier and Clément Turpin. As for the Spaniards, these are four: Jesus Hill Mantano, Carlos Del Cerro Grande, Mateu Laoth and Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez.
