Karditsa survived the “thriller” and stayed in the Basket League!

Excellent start from Ionikos, who went 3-10 in the first three minutes. Then, Karditsa reacted with Evans and Giuseli, getting closer to -3 (13-16), at 6′. However, in the following minutes, the Nice team regained control and with the hungry Arsenopoulos off the bench closed the first quarter with a 9-0 run, for +12 (13-25).

With Bart’s baskets, Ionikos escaped to +13 (17-30) at the beginning of the second quarter and with Lacey and Hawkins entering the equation, it reached +15 (27-42), at 15′. From that point on, the home team made their counterattack and with Evans and Galinat leading the way they cut the difference to -4 (41-45), with Myers making 1/2 shots to make it 41-46 of the first half.

With the hungry Galinat, Karditsa scored 8-2 at the beginning of the second half and equalized (48-48) at 23′. Then, an unsportsmanlike foul by Agravanis on Arsenopoulos cut off the home team’s momentum and… gave it to Ionikos, who escaped to +6 (50-56), in the 26th minute, while thanks to the offensive rebounds and the “hot” Bart, he closed in the third period at +5 (56-61).

With Bart continuing his… violin and having no opponent, Ionikos escaped to +12 (61-73), in the 34th minute. Karditsa found some baskets in the open field, but the Nice team maintained its safety distance (67-79), until the 36th minute. The home team reacted through their defense and with Pridget and Galinat scored individually 12-1, they came close to the basket (78-80), with 1:15” before the end. The visitors then kept ahead thanks to shots, with Galinat tying the game (83-83), with a big three-pointer at 35.9”. Karditsa made the steal on the next defense, with Pridget from the line making 2/2 for their first lead (85-83), at 13.2”. In the last attack of the match, Bart missed and thus the Thessaly team won and stayed in the division!
