The heart of world water polo will beat in Athens this week. One day before the start of the second phase of the Women’s World Cup, that is on Easter Tuesday (18/4) at noon (13.00), the draw for the Men’s / Women’s World Water Polo Championship (which will take place in Fukuoka, July 14-29, 2023).
The event will also be attended by leading figures in Aquatics, Greek officials, the Ambassador of Japan to Greece, while the hosts will be KOE and its President Kyriakos Yiannopoulos, member of the World Aquatics bureau and Vice President of LEN.
In the draw, both the Men’s and the Women’s are expected to enter 16 teams that will belong to four groups (levels) of capacity, so that the Groups will be drawn. Capacity Groups in detail:

Second Capacity Group: Serbia, USA, Canada, Hungary
Third Capacity Group: Brazil, France, Montenegro, Australia

From Aquatics will be present among others, the President of the World Aquatics Husain Al Musallam, the President of the European Federation (LEN) and Vice President of the World, Antonio Jose Silva and the Secretary General of the Asian Swimming Federation , President of the Oman Federation and member of the “Bureau” of the World Federation, Taha Sulaiman Al Kishry.
Also present, the First Vice-President of the European Federation and member of the World “Bureau”, Iosip Varvodic, the members of the “Bureau” of the World and European Federation, Vanja Udovicic and Milos Mracevic respectively, as well as the Secretary General of the Serbian Federation Nemanja Marijan.
