Anigo: “There is no doubt that we can win at the OPAP Arena”

On how much the victory over Volos helps the preparation for the match against AEK: “It was important for us to find a way to win again and of course this helps us to prepare for the next game. However, it remains a difficult game, a special game because it is a derby. For many reasons it is a difficult race.”

Regarding the fact that Olympiacos is the only team to have won at AEK’s stadium: “It is very important and we use it in preparation to explain to the players how it is possible, how we can do it again and win there. Olympiacos is a great team and no one can dispute that. If there is a great team in Greece it is Olympiacos and this is proven by their titles, their European participations and all their successes. Therefore when we talk about such a club there is no doubt that it can win anywhere. The last time we won there I was with the previous manager, Mitchell, and we really explained to the players how we can do it. We must think the same now.”



On whether Olympiacos can become a regulator in the battle for the title: “We will play 100% in all our games. Since we won’t be the champions, we want to win all the remaining matches and regardless of which team Olympiacos is facing, it will always give 100%.”

As for whether he is experiencing absenteeism issues: “Against Volos we also had comebacks. We saw footballers that we haven’t seen in a while. Apart from Paschalakis who has a knee problem and some players who are coming from many consecutive games and maybe they are tired, everyone else is available.”
