Giorgos Papalexiou became a PAOK volleyball player again on Friday. Erasitechnis announced the signing of the 24-year-old international center for next year, with the player returning to the “two-headed” after two years and his tenure at Foinikas Syros.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the men’s volleyball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Giorgos Papalexiou, for the 2023-2024 season.
Born in Katerini on 28/08/1999, Giorgos Papalexiou plays as a central player and is 202cm tall.
He started his career with Niki Aeginiou in the 2012-13 season, gaining his first performances in the Men’s Volley League, but also at the highest level of the rest of the domestic competitions.
In fact, in the 2013-14 season, Giorgos Papalexiou coexisted with this year’s passer of PAOK, Jay Blankenau.
In the 2018-19 season, he made the trip to Aeginio-Piraeus to compete with the OSFP jersey, winning both the championship and the League Cup, while at the same time reaching the ‘4th’ of the CEV Cup.
He remained at OSFP in the 2019-20 season, a competitive year which was “marked” by the coronavirus.
In the 2020-21 season, he played his first term at PAOK.
The following two years (2021-2023) found him in Syros on behalf of Phoenix, with whom he won the Super Cup in the 2021-22 season, coached by Josko Milenkoski.
He is an international player with the national men’s team of our country, even having several appearances with the ‘blue and white’.
Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK, Giorgos Papalexiou stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy to be at PAOK for the second time. As you all know, PAOK has always been the star in domestic competitions.
The goal of the team is to win as many titles as possible. It comes from a very good year last year, in which it won the Cup. We should, through the work and training we will do on the field, have an equally good year and maybe even better with more titles.
From here on, the support of the world is very important, it should be next to our effort in every match. The fans of PAOK, I personally like them very much, I would like them on our side”.
Welcome to PAOK, George”!
