A difficult season has ended for the Juventus.
The Old Lady failed to win a title, while they were in the spotlight due to a financial scandal and received a points deduction that effectively sent them to the Conference for the following season.
One of the few who lived up to expectations in this year’s Juve, was Angel Di Maria. The Argentinian was acquired last summer and put in some amazing performances, however he made the decision not to renew his contract, saying goodbye to the Italians via social media.
His message in detail:
“I have reached the end of a difficult and complicated journey. I leave with the peace of mind of someone who gave everything to help the club keep winning titles, but it wasn’t possible.
I leave with the bitter taste that I didn’t make it, but with the happiness of bringing with me many friends from this great dressing room I was a part of. Thanks to all my teammates for the affection they showed me from day one, I always felt at home.
A big salute to all Juventus players for their daily affection. A big hug. I carry you in my heart.”
