With relatively limited employee participation and sporadic incidents, the 14th round of demonstrations and strike actions against the reform of the pension system in France ended in the afternoon.

According to the left-wing trade union CGT, the number of demonstrators was nearly 900,000 across the country, about 300,000 in Paris. However, according to police estimates, the demonstrators in Paris numbered around 30,000.

On the sidelines of the mobilization in Paris, there were limited incidents that resulted in the injury of a police officer and the arrest of 17 protesters, as announced by the police.

Political analysts speculate that today’s probably was the last round of strike mobilizations for the new pension system, which the country’s government has already started to implement. Union representatives emphasize that French public opinion is still against the reform of the pension system and estimate that there will be new forms of social reaction to the government’s plans.
