Two people were shot and a police officer was seriously injured during it Nuggets parade in Denver to win the championship.
As regards the first incident, one man opened fire and injured two others, about half an hour after midnight, a few meters away from the route of the champions in the center of the city, which was already starting to empty of fans as the celebrations were over. According to the police, this is an incident unrelated to the parade. Both victims were taken to a local hospital in serious condition. No arrests have been made, but police are investigating based on a photo of a possible suspect at the scene.
At the same time, one police officer was seriously injured by a fire truck carrying some members of the Nuggets, toward the end of the team’s parade route, shortly before midnight](11:30 p.m.). The veteran police officer’s leg was crushed by the vehicle as this was turning and he himself was trying to protect the people who were in the way. The unlucky man was taken to the hospital seriously injured and underwent an operation with the doctors trying to save his leg.
