U13 European Championship: Our national team lost 3-2 to Belgium


The exciting “journey” of Greece in the European Under 13 championship group, in Zagreb, ends tomorrow 17/06 with a match for the 17-18 places.

The wonderful effort of the children from the beginning of the event continued on the evening of Friday 16/06 in the first 4 of level B, i.e. in the mini table of positions 15-18.

There was a “battle” against Belgium this time, a 2-1 lead was created, but in the end the defeat came 3-2. Thus, our national team will close its matches essentially playing in the “small” final of level B.

Her opponent will be (tomorrow morning at 10 Greek time) Portugal, which lost to Austria 3-1 in the other match of the 15-18 positions. Tonight Konstantinos Alexoudis, Anna-Fanouria Mitka, Yiannis Kioseloglou and Christina Tzenidis competed and Dimitris Georgallidis and Despina Dimitriou sat on the bench.

In the knockout stages, the system is different from that of the groups. The winner emerges from the team that comes first in 3 individual victories, however the undefeated game with Belgium also went to 5 matches.

Tomorrow two of our neighboring countries will claim the European title. Italy and Turkey, who prevailed in the semi-finals with 3-0 Spain and Germany respectively! The losers of the semi-finals compete for the bronze medal.
