The “bronze” world champion of table tennis for people with disabilities, Evanthia-Irini Bournia, left on Tuesday for Ostrava, where she will take part in the ITTF Fa20 Czech Para Open 2023 in the Czech Republic, which takes place on 22-24/06 and the young international takes part in the women’s class 1 with the aim of providing an ideal follow-up to the recent gold medal in the corresponding event in Jordan.
Bournia’s coach, Eleftheria Daudakis, who recently renewed her cooperation with the National Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities, will be at Bournia’s side in another tournament.
The Czech Para Championships is an established event that has once again attracted Greek athletes. It includes all individual events, only in the international federation’s list Bournia appears without a partner in doubles and will probably compete only in singles in this tournament as well.
It should be noted that a few days ago the Greek Paralympic Committee chose Evanthia Bournia as a candidate for the “Best Up-and-coming Athlete 2023” award to the International Paralympic Committee and sent the relevant nomination.
Finally, it should be mentioned that the Competition Manager in the Czech Republic in another ITTF Para TT event is Giorgos Seliniotakis.
