Asteras Tripolis is slowly starting its preparation ahead of the new season, with Milan Rastavac to return after a year at the helm of the team.

The Serbian technician spoke to Metropolis and revealed how he made the decision to return to the Arcades, while also talking about his personal goals.

On his decision to return to Asteras Tripoli’s bench: “It was an easy decision, because I had a very good season at Asteras. So I think it was a very good decision to go back, I think for both sides. I was also pleased, but I think so was the management side. In general, I have family relations with the entire management of Asteras”.

For the goals of Astera Tripoli in the new season: “Initially we want to put Asteras in the position they were in, that is, high in the standings. It will not be an easy task, because we have players whose contracts are expiring but also others who are young and have to adapt to the way we work. However, I think that with hard work we will be able to bring Asteras Tripoli back up high, that is, to the first six places, those of the playoffs”.

On his expectations ahead of the championship that is about to start: “I believe that this championship will also be very interesting. It is AEK that won two trophies, Olympiacos that wants to raise its level again, because this year it was left early without goals, while Panathinaikos and PAOK will want to enter the battle for the title again. Also, the rest of the teams will try to compete with the BIG-5, who are always in the playoffs. I think we will see a very interesting championship, especially in the first part, which will also have European obligations”

For Panagiotis Tsima who is Razvan Lucescu’s choice for PAOK’s preparation in the pre-season: “Tzimas is an interesting young player. He made some good plays, coming off a solid year with PAS Ioannina. I think he will be able to find himself at a good level for the first national team as well.”

For his own goals: “I want to show a better image of both myself and the team. More competitive. The best we can to stand at a high level.”
