Before Christmas, Konstantinos Aggelakis was again in severe pain in his right knee and after the New Year, it was deemed absolutely necessary to perform a third operation in the same place to clean a part of the meniscus.
The Greek champion of men’s simple table tennis in 2020 went through the door of the operating room again and everything went well. He begins to strengthen immediately and, according to the doctors’ estimates, he hopes that in a month and a half he will be able to return to the tables.
Angelakis had the second arthroscopy in May 2021. In December, however, a suture was cut from the meniscus and this created his new problem. On the 21st of the month he gave his last match with Yaroslav in the Polish League and he had intense annoyances.
After returning to Athens and the holidays, the pain did not leave him and at the beginning of the year it was deemed appropriate to perform a new operation to clear the area. The top defender is recovering and will start strengthening very soon. Unfortunately, Angelakis is losing new ground in his preparation, however he believes that if all goes well he will be able to return to action in six weeks.
In this case, his goal can be to participate in the playoffs of the Polish championship. His team after the seventh place he occupied in the first phase of the League, now continues in the group of positions 1-7 and has a guaranteed presence in the third and last phase, ie in the playoffs of the first eight.
