“Unfortunately, I will not be able to take part with my brothers of the Spanish national team in this year’s World Cup.
In last year’s EuroBasket final where we lifted the trophy I had an injury, so I didn’t have time to recover, since the EuroLeague year started almost immediately.
I have met with three different specialists who have told me that I need to rest and continue the treatments so that I can be back to 100% next season.
I hope to be able to represent Spain at the 2024 Olympic Games and I believe that this decision becomes my best opportunity to help the team fight for the gold medal in Paris.
I will forever be grateful to the Spanish FA, coach Scariolo and his staff, my teammates and of course the fans who embraced me last summer.
I hope I get the chance to make them proud again.
