The Amazons… enchanted in Verona and made great appearances at the European Cheerleading Championship. The Greek champions shone in the beautiful Italian city, won three medals and proved in the best way that great talent and hard work are rewarded.
It is the first time that our club wins a medal in a European championship and naturally the emotion was huge with tears of joy emotionally filling the atmosphere that will forever be etched in everyone’s memory. After all, the Amazons were part of the huge history written in Verona, as Greece made a record collection of medals in a European championship, with 10 teams climbing onto the winners’ podium.
Mythology says that the Amazons were fierce warriors and the… modern Amazons “fought” against very powerful teams in the European championship and came out victorious!
The medals came in the Senior Hip Hop category, where the National Anthem was played in honor of our girls. At the same time, our team won the silver medal in the Youth Hip Hop category and the bronze medal in the Junior Hip Hop category.
From there, the Amazons reached the Youth Pom category, one breath away from the medal. After a tough performance they took 4th place and missed the podium by just 0.1 points in their first European appearance!
The Amazons performed excellently in the Junior Pom and took 7th place. In an extremely difficult Senior Pom category, the Amazons came in eighth, making a very promising appearance.
Finally, at the awards of the European Championship, the top teams in the Cheer League for 2022 were awarded. The Amazons were the winners of the European league for 2022 in two categories in Senior Pom and Junior Pom.
