Olympiacos announced the acquisition of the international libero, Marialena Artakianou, who last season played for AEK and was named the top libero of the season in the Volley League.
In detail, the announcement:
“OLYMPIAN S.F.P. announces the start of his collaboration with Marialena Artakianou. The international Greek libero (born 21/5/1994, 1.70m.) signed her new contract and joins the roster of the club’s Women’s volleyball team.
Last season (2022-23), the 29-year-old athlete, a key member of our Women’s National team, competed in AEK and was named the top libero of the Volley League championship. From 2014 to 2022, she wore the jersey of AO Thiras, while she started her career in Thessaloniki, from Iraklis.
Marialena Artakianou’s statement on olympiacossfp.gr: “I am very happy about my transfer to the Olympiakos team. I will try to give my best and through hard work on the field, we will succeed in returning the team to the titles. I think , that the championship this year will be more competitive, that’s why we need the people to be by our side. I thank the coach and the team for the opportunity and the trust they show in me! I wish we all have a year full of many successes and health”.
