by

One of the biggest bombs of recent years in European basketball was activated by Monacowhich announced the acquisition of the great NBAer Kemba Walker.

The general manager of the Monegasques, Oleksii Yefimovgave the background to this transfer and talked about the high expectations he has from Kemba, while also commenting on the future of Mike James at the club.

In detail what he said:

For Kemba Walker: “It was a unique opportunity. You should know that he came to Monaco incognito a few years ago along with other Nike athletes. I think it was 2019. Therefore, he knows the Principality, he trained at our stadium. Not only will we get a player of exceptional quality and an incredible talent, but also a wonderful person.

We expect him to fit in very well on and off the court. I strongly believe that he will arrive in Monaco with the right mindset: humble and ready to work. It is a unique opportunity to acquire a player of this level and at the same time a personality that will fit our team very well. He’s just had another operation, we think he’ll be able to pull through.”

About Mike James: “Mike will probably be with us next season. He can still trigger an exit clause in the next ten days. But from our side, we’re not going to do that.”
