Oregon’s 2022 all-American track and field world champions will defend the title they won last year on home soil and in Budapest, 19-27 of the month. The US Classic Sports Federation has announced its “selectees” for the Hungarian capital event, and among them are the biggest names in the sport.
First, world champion and “gold” Olympic 800m champion, Athing Mo. Next is world champion, “gold” Olympic medalist and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, Sydney McLaughlin, who will only compete in the 400m. She is followed by pole vault world champion Kate Moon-Nazot and two-time indoor world champion in the same event, Sandy Morris.
Also, world discus champion Valerie Allman, world hammer throw champion Brooke Andersen, and world shot put champion Chase Ealy. Also, former 3,000m steeplechase world champion Emma Coburn, 100m and 200m double contender Sakari Richardson and Tori Franklin in the triple jump.
On the men’s side, we have 100m world champion Frank Curley, former event world champion Christian Coleman, 200m world champion Noah Lyles, 400m world champion, Mike Norman, 110m world champion hurdles Grant Holloway, world shot put champion and record holder Ryan Krauser, and Marquis Dendy in the long shot, among Milto Tendoglou’s medal rivals.
