The PAOK basketball team continues its transfer demarcation!

The “two-headed of the north” further strengthened its peripheral shooting by announcing the acquisition of the 23-year-old Lithuanian guard, Laurinas Beliauskas.

The height 1.94 guard, is a product of Neptune to which he belonged from 2014 until 2019, while in between he played on loan in the second team of Zalgiris. Among other things, he also gained experience on the Spanish courts, having been a player for Obradoiro while last season, he played for the Skylanders of Frankfurt.

KAE PAOK mateco announces the agreement with Lithuanian guard Laurynas Beliauskas, who will play for our team in the 2023-24 season. We welcome Laurynas, an authentic shooter, to the PAOK family.

Laurynas Beliauskas was born in Klaipeda on March 2, 1997. He is 1.94m tall, he plays as a guard and shooting is the main feature of his game, but also his big advantage. But not the only one! He started basketball from his hometown team Neptunas Klaipeda in 2014 and in his first season, at the age of 17 he played in the 2nd team of Zalgiris. He participated in the Euroleague Basketball Next Generation Tournament, where Zalgiris failed to reach the finals, but Laurynas won the competition in three-point shooting!

By the end of the 2018-19 season, he had played in 148 games with Neptunas, scoring 532 points in total. Of these 148 games, 118 were for the league and the remaining 30 in European competitions. Three of these 30 matches were against PAOK! He even played twice at the PAOK Sports Arena, scoring 9 points in PAOK’s 81-73 win in icy and snowy Thessaloniki in early January 2017, while scoring 7 points in the 91-70 thrashing of the Lithuanian team in Palataki earlier this season. 2017-18.

In the 2019-20 season he played for Nevezis and in the best season of his career to that point, he had 15.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists, with 42.4% on 3-pointers and 91.2% on shots. All this in 15 matches, which allowed him to continue, from the beginning of February 2020 in Spain with Obradoiro. He managed to play in 3 games before everything changed due to the pandemic, but he stayed with the Galician team for the next two years. He played in 63 more games in ACB, achieved 400 points (6.3 per game) and left for Germany, where last year (2022-23) with Fraport Skyliners he had an excellent season: In 24 games, he had 13.9 points per game and more: 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, with impressive shooting percentages: 42.3% on three-pointers with almost three accurate three-point shots per game and 90% on shots.

With the National U18 team of Lithuania, he won the bronze medal at the 2015 Eurobasket held in Volos. He had his best two games against Greece, scoring 14 points in Lithuania’s 70-64 group stage win. He had 19 points in the semi-final, where the Greek team prevailed 68-58 and qualified for the final and then became European champions. He was also a member of the Lithuanian U20 National Team that in 2018 won the silver medal at the EuroBasket held in Finland.
