Two arrests for the fan incident in Agrinio

In two arrests the authorities have already taken action, while others are imminent, regarding the fan incident that took place yesterday at Agrinio. According to the city’s security sub-directorate, in addition to the two people arrested, five more have been identified and investigations are continuing to locate and arrest them.

According to what the local media of Agrinio report, there was serious fight between young people, which took place on Xenopoulou Street, outside Agrinio Park. agriniopress.gr reports specifically that a group of young people on two-wheelers allegedly, according to the first information, got involved with two young people, as a result of which one of the young people was stabbed in the thigh. The serious episode took place outside a restaurant, at the entrance to the playground, with dozens of citizens and children watching the spectacle in amazement.

The young man had heavy bleeding and was rushed to the hospital of Agrinio by EKAV ambulance, with the police conducting searches at this time. According to information, the episode involved fans of Panaitolikos and fans of an Athenian team, persons who appear to be known to the local authorities. Initially, in fact, there was information that the injured person is a Panaitolikos player, which was not confirmed. A second person is said to have been injured in the fight.
