Official of Tzavella in Atromitos!

Giorgos Tzavellas (26/11/87) plays as a central defender and has recorded 49 appearances with our National team, scoring three goals.

He started his career with Doxa Byrona and Terpsithea, with Corfu giving him the opportunity for the big step in his career in 2006. In January 2008 he was acquired by Panionios and through his performances he moved to the Bundesliga and Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2010.

In January 2012, he transferred to Monaco and Ligue 1, from which he left in 2013 to repatriate on behalf of PAOK. He remained in Thessaloniki until 2017, when he was transferred to Alanyaspor with whom he made 140 appearances and in 2021 he returned to Greece for AEK.

With the formal completion of the agreement, Giorgos Tzavellas, who chose and took the number “33”, made his first statements on atromitosfc.gr:

”I’m very happy that what I really wanted from the beginning happened and I’m at Atromitos. It is a team that provides everything to its players. From facilities, stadiums, etc. and everyone has the best to say, which of course I already knew, even as an opponent. The main thing, however, was the way of approach from the president himself which was very special.

He made me understand from the first moment how warm the atmosphere is in the team and moreover from the first conversation he completely convinced me that this step is what I want to do. I really wanted through what he told me to immediately help my new team and thank him on the pitch. Frankly, for me the resume doesn’t matter at all. What I’m 100% interested in is helping the Fearless.

From the moment I decided to leave Turkey, I had proposals in my hands, but Atromitos was the best prospect, from things I already knew and much more after the conversations I had with the president, but also with the coach, who gave me he explained the plan he has for the team and for me.

Atromitos has shown over the years how stable a team it is. It is mainly a team with goals, which always has good players, which wants to stand out and I have also seen this as an opponent, which every time, regardless of the team I was playing against, always made it difficult for me. This whole package and what this team stands for, made me really want to come here with all my heart.

I never set long-term goals. I have come with a lot of motivation and my personal pursuit is to give my best and help the team progress and go week by week and better. All our minds must be on the daily work.
